Digital Images
The popularity of digital cameras in the past few years has resulted in a tsunami of images for amateur photographers. Fortunately, digital images of 2 MP or more are ideal for use in high quality video slide shows. Pictures taken with a cell phone are generally not good enough.

Photographs & Prints
Printed pictures can also be used, but they need to be scanned and saved to a CD. You can provide up to 10% of your images as prints and I will scan them for you for no additional charge. Additional scans are $1 each.

If you have your pictures scanned, be sure to request 300 dpi (dots per inch). This resolution will provide a pretty good image in your slide show. Make sure your prints are clean and dust free.

A scanned 4" x 6" photograph will be about 800K in size. About 80 scanned pictures will fit on a single CD.

Music & Voice
For personal use, you can use music from your own CD collection without concern for copyright problems. However, if you intend to publish your slideshow or distribute publicly, I can provide a range of royalty-free music that might work for you.

Here are a couple of Internet sources for royalty-free music that you might want to explore:
  • mp3.com is a nicely organized searchable library.
  • CCHits searches for music licensed under Creative Commons.
Video
Video segments can be part of your video slide show. Including a video clip from your video camera, digital camera or computer camera can add a special touch. Video in avi, mpg, mov or wmv formats are acceptable.

Media
Digital images, video and royalty-free music should be provided on a CD or thumb drive. You might also want to record your own voice for use. Commercial music needs to be provided on the original CD.

Of course, all of your original media and prints will be returned to you.
