Twelve of us from our church, including 5 teens, spent 10 days in Nicaragua to work on a water project for a small mountain village. We arrived in Managua, went northwest to stay in Camaopa, and communited every day from there to La Calamidad.

I wondered what I was missing by not taking the time to look in my own backyard. So I observed what was happening within the area of a hula hoop during April and May.
On Saturday, March 22, 2003, families with adopted Chinese children were going about their business as usual. Some were at home, others were out and about. I asked parents to take a moment to record what was going on that day by taking pictures of their families, particularly their children.
The result of the “Day In The Life Of Our Children” project is presented here for your amazement. Once again, the normal activities with our children trump the noisy world in significance.
